Announcing Our New Theme for 2023!


It's likely safe to declare that we all thoroughly enjoyed the 2022 theme for our Sunday messages, the "Names of God". You may be surprised to hear that we learned over 122 names, and there are still even more we didn't cover! However, we are now moving on to a new and equally interesting theme in 2023! The theme is:


...DRUMROLL...






"THIS I BELIEVE"


This year, Pastor Rick will be bringing us through the "Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths". We will all gain a better understanding not only of the Assemblies of God's foundational beliefs, but also of what are considered to be the basics of our faith, which shape the messages we hear each week.


The Fundamental Truths that will be covered in Janauary are:


1. The Scriptures Inspired

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.


2. The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

New Year's Day

Our morning service on Sunday, January 1st, 2023 will take place at 10:30am with communion. We will be announcing our new theme for 2023.

(NOTE: There will be no Sunday School or Evening Service)

Every Sunday at 9:30am (except 1/1). See Sandra to enroll.


Morning Worship Service

Every Sunday at 10:30am. Communion takes place the 1st Sunday of each month.


Sunday Evening Service

January 1 - No service

January 8 - Prayer Rally at Mill City Assembly of God

January 15 - Join us at 6:30pm as we look at the Hanukah Menorah and the prayers/meaning associated with it!

January 22 & 29th - Join us at 6:30pm for our bible study of the book of Esther.


Missions / BGMC

BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) updates and giving take place the 3rd Sunday morning of each month.


Children's Christmas Program

Sunday morning, January 8th at 10:30am the Children will present their Christmas Program (postponed from last month). Snow date is Janary 15th. Please come and cheer them on!


Wear Your Winter Hat Sunday

January 15th at 10:30 am service. Wear what you think is a nice warm one!


Wear Your Winter Sweater Sunday

January 29th at 10:30am service. Wear your favorite winter sweater and bring some cookies and we'll have a cookie swap after the service!

Sing-a-Long at The Gardens

Every Wednesday at 10:30am. Contact Pastor Rick to join the fun.


Prayer, Praise and Worship

Every 1 , 3 & 5th Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in the sanctuary. This is very Pentecostal and spiritually moving.


Bible Study

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in the sanctuary. We are studying Christian Living from Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians.


TAG Team Youth

Youth 12 years and up are welcome to join this special program on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Talk to Alice if you have any questions.

Recipe from

Mexico

We recently learned about Mexico during our BGMC presentation. Here is a recipe that is common in Mexico and it's perfect for this season's wintry weather!

Hot chocolate with cinnamon

CHOCOLATE CALIENTE (HOT CHOCOLATE)


Ingredients


  • 6 c. milk
  • 6 oz. sweet chocolate
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla
  • Dash of cinnamon


Instructions


  • Heat the milk over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  • Meanwhile, break the chocolate into pieces.
  • When the milk is hot, melt the chocolate pieces in it, stirring constantly.
  • When all the chocolate is melted, increase the heat and let the mixture slowly boil, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat, add the vanilla and cinnamon.
  • Beat until frothy.
  • Serve immediately.
